Today is May 17, 2012.   I have been working on some changes to my blog.  I love the "free designs" from Dani.  I am going to try this lovely spring background and hope that it motives me to get back to posting.
My wrists are still sore but healing.  The dolls are not collecting dust but they are standing still for the moment as I work in the flowerbeds and on the grandchildren' scrapbooks.   I have several designs running around in my head and hope to get back to sewing soon.

Hope everyone is enjoying spring.

I finally purchased McKenna and ordered her collection. Of course many items are on back order but with free shipping.... I made a few purchases.

This was a fast set up but will have fun when I get a nice display set up later.

Enjoyed St.Paddy's Day with the "boys" and raking the leaves out of the flower beds.  Cody enjoyed teaching grandma how to play Lego Star Wars on the Wii.   I tried but finally gave the controller over to Uncle Tim and Brian (my sons )   Lots of fun.
I went to the sewing room and worked on some P.J.s for the dolls.  I cut these out a while back but am just now getting them together.   It's almost warm enough for them.

The girls are borrowing Julie's room and her stuffed toys for a little pajama party.
It is a cute pattern .

March 4, 2012

We are back in Ohio and I would like to tell you about our amazing experience on the Buckeye Cruise for the Cure for Cancer.  You can see the dolls in this picture and know that I worked many months to restore them... design their outfits and sew them.   These five dolls were a labor of love (that my DH volunteered me to do)  and they were given with the hope of making a few hundred dollars for a good cause.
At this time I will tell you I thought maybe a $1,000.00 would be nice and I prayed for people to bid.   The weather was beautiful and I set the dolls up as you can see by the pictures.

Our mascot promoted his "mini me".   I was last after all the real icons and many in the audience had left.  My description was clear and I told Dom (auctioneer) the dolls cost about $120.00 new, to start the bidding there.   He started at $200.00.     I sat down and we waited.   The Samantha doll was first and sold for $2,750.00....

Yes, Doc and I were in a state of SHOCK!!!.    I heard but missed the rest of the bidding on the other dolls.  The Ohio State Fans were very generous and God blessed the auctions.  (Brutus was $10,000.00)   The total for all five dolls was $30,000.00.

FAINT!!!  I sat in my chair until the staff came to shake me.   I met the winners and thanked them for their donations.   It was and still is amazing.

This year was the highest for donations and they are still coming in.  (Around a million dollars but still receiving and counting)

Please rejoice with Doc and I as cancer survivors and share in our joy in the success of the "doll" auctions.

Jan 5, 2011

Hello.... I am still out here.  The holidays were interrupted by a stomach virus  followed up with both of my wrists strained.   I've been in braces for about a week and it's not much fun .... but....

One wrist brace came off today but the right one is still hurting.  I've been itching to sew so I sat down and stitched this outfit up.  My wrists are sore but got something done today.  :-)

It's a brand new year and I am looking forward.   May this year be filled with blessing and happiness.

November 28, 2011

Sorry no posts.  Had a great Thanksgiving with DH, kids and grandkids.   Stayed up really late last night for Cyber Monday sale on American Girl but didn't find a thing I was interested in.  Will wait for the spotlight daily sales this week.   It's not as big a savings with shipping but I will check the sales out.  :-)

In the meantime, must get the newsletter ready and the cards addressed.   The outside is done but the tree needs ornaments.  Will try to stay busy but am itching to do some sewing.

November 23, 2011

Hello!  I wish I could say that I have been away on a safari or deep sea fishing or even a hike in Kenia .... but I've just been busy cleaning up the basement and putting sewing things away before the grandchildren come on Friday for Thanksgiving.   Does this mean I'm all finished with my sewing..... Nope!  but it does mean that the pins, needles and scissors are up and out of the way of rambunctious little people.

Tomorrow is suppose to be a bit warmer and so I hope to string some outside lights.  Wish me luck.

Happy Thanksgiving and have a blessed day.
